Lisa Elaine Battan
As an immigration law attorney I strive to serve each client through both a knowledge of the law and a knowledge of my clients' lives, interests and unique legal challenges. I have worked as a licensed attorney since 1994, and have worked in immigration law exclusively since 1997. In addition to resolving over 1,000 immigration law cases, my legal involvement includes:
- Service on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Bar Association Immigration Committee
- Service on the Executive Committee for the Colorado Chapter of the America Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) including as Chapter Chair
- Service with the national Family Immigration Committee of AILA
In addition to my legal work, I share numerous interests with many of my international clients. For example:
- I teach and dance Argentine Tango, which is a complex dance spawned by Buenos Aries's immigrant culture. I am proud both 1) to be a part of Colorado's thriving Argentine Tango community, and 2) of my record of having secured visas for most of the world's best tango dancers and musicians who come to work in the U.S.
- I ride and compete in dressage and eventing and have represented horse and riding trainers throughout their immigration process
- I practice yoga and meditation , and have helped numerous international Buddhist instructors win the right to visit and teach in the U.S.
