As an immigration law attorney, Lisa strives to serve each client through both a knowledge of the law and a knowledge of her clients' lives, interests and unique legal challenges. Lisa has worked as a licensed attorney since 1994, and has worked exclusively in immigration law since 1997.
In addition to resolving thousands of immigration law cases, her legal involvement includes:
- Regular lecturer and teacher of immigration topics for other attorneys
- Served as President of the Colorado Bar Association Immigration Section
- Active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), including service on the national committee on family immigration and immigration for artists and athletes
- Service on the Executive Committee for the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) including as Chapter Chair
- Volunteer for Lawline 9 at Channel 9 News, Legal Night at Mi Casa and mentoring attorney for Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN)
- Authoring books and articles on immigration law
While the practice of law keeps Lisa busy, she shares numerous interests with many of her international clients. When she is not helping clients find solutions to their immigration issues, Lisa may be:
- Teaching the Argentine tango, a complex dance spawned by Buenos Aries' immigrant culture. Lisa is proud to be a part of Colorado's thriving Argentine tango community. She has combined her passions for immigration law and dance by securing visas for many of the world's best tango dancers and musicians who come to work in the U.S.
- Riding and competing in dressage. Again, she has a record of representing professional equestrians throughout their immigration process.
- Finding balance for her busy life and interests through a regular practice of yoga and meditation. As with her other activities Lisa has combined her personal interests and professional services by helping numerous international Buddhist teachers win visas which allow them to visit and teach in the U.S.
Lisa is grateful that, through her job as an immigration attorney, she has the opportunity to meet extraordinary people from all over the world. According to Lisa, "I find it truly rewarding to help clients overcome sometimes frustrating U.S. immigration laws, and to fulfill their goals and dreams to live in the United States."
